　 		The procedure for use of lab animals in the University of Tokushima.
INTRODUCTION
　The Guideline for Care & Use of Lab Animals of the University of Tokushima, revised in April, 2005, stipulates that The Animal Care and Use Committee has all responsibility for lab animals in the University of Tokushima. Therefore, no lab animal can be used without permission from the Committee. Now,here are the major points of the Guideline.
１ Respect of３R（Replacement, Reduction, Refinement）
２ The area or building that you would breed animals must be approved by the Committee.
３ Application form of experimental planning [Jikken Keikaku-sho] must be submitted to and approved by the Committee.
４ Only after your experiment plan is approval, can you purchase or obtain animals. Animal purchase application form [Doubutu Hannyu moushikomisyo] must be submitted to and approved by the Committee before making an order.
５ From a point of view of preventing pathogens, you are allowed to use animals at one place only.
６ For the same reason described above, you are allowed to use SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) mice or rats only.

The processes to use animals
Declare your work place Submit application form of experimental planning [Jikken Keikaku-sho]
You can use animals at one place at a time  

You may change from the present place to a new place two weeks later after you have finished your work in the present place.

   The committee meeting approves and issues approval number.

  Submit Animal Purchase Apprication form [Doubutu Hannyu moushikomisyo] .
 
You need the receipt number to purchase the animals After confirmed, the form will be returned to you with receit number.
